After church, Frank made some sandwiches and we headed out to see some family history stuff here in Belleville.
First we saw the home where Frank and Donna lived with their parents back in 1951 while Donald was stationed here at Scott AFB.
Then we drove uo to the old RADAR site that Don was in charge of on Turkey Hill. The site and the buildings are now used by some agency to house mentally challenged youth...
After that, we drove down and saw a guy combining his field of corn. Frank wanted to show us how the corn head works so he drove to a place where he knew there was some for sale on the side of the road.
Across the road was field of soybeans so we walked a cross to see them. I took a couple of pictures of frank and one of the field.
Frank noticed and said that I probably should not take pictures in that direction because the other side of the field butted up against the flight line at Scott AFB.
So I put the camera away and we drove through the base so Frank could show us the historical section that was where Donald worked.
When we got home, there was a phone call waiting for Frank... the base security was calling because they had seen me taking photos and wanted to question him about them.
He was able to convince them that I was only taking photos of the soybeans (which I was) but I bet it sounded pretty lame to them! Whatever he said worked... However, his vehicle license plate is probably now on some terrorist watch list... which is pretty lame beings he works on the base!
I guess the MP's came looking for us but we had already left the area... we were on base! It is good to know that they are on duty protecting us though... and I am very serious about that!
Wendy and Eddy came over to Frank and Kathy's and we had a nice meal together together.
After dinner, we sat around the pool and visited. Logan (Laura's little guy) was having fun with Papa.
He is a cute little guy with a grin that will just melt you.
As they quit and Logan decided to walk into the house, he got a step ahead of Frank and dove into the pool! Frank was in the water before you could say "Jump"!
The little guy went nearly to the bottom and was on his way back up when Frank was able to grab him... Logan did not seem to mind much, but it gave the rest of us a little scare... it did not do much for Franks cell phone either.
This evening, some close friends of Frank and Kathy came over and we taught them all to play "Five Crowns". Kathy's friend Jules used a good dose of beginners luck and womped on us pretty well... of course it never hurts to have Deb throwin' to ya!
Here is a shot of tonights sunset as it was reflected off of a window on the back of Franks house.
Tomorrow, we are going to the St Louis Historical Society to do some more research. Tuesday, we are going to Old Lebanon to visit Amish Country. I think on Wednesday, we will start towards Pennsylvania and then on to New England to see the changing of the leaves!
But you never know what will actually happen... stay tuned for more News at Eleven.

Dad, you kill me! Be careful with the camera will ya!
Glad to hear from you. Thought you might have got lost! Nice photos, especially of the temple I hope we get to visit it someday. I am a bit surprised about the AF worrying about you taking pictures of a soybean field. Yuu would think that they might have signs posted. You will like Pennsylvania. It is a pretty state. The Amish have some beautiful farms.
