Day 55: Travel Note...

Greetings from Wichita, KS...

I only have time to give a quick update of what we have been doing and our changed travel plans...

Friday we spent the day in Louisville, KY and then travelled to Belleville, IL to spend the evening with Frank and Kathy. We took this route because our plans were to take a route back to Utah through Lincoln, NE and Cheyenne, WY...

However, by the time we got across Missouri yesterday, the weather reports of the snow storms blowing across the plains and the Rockies changed our itinerary...

After checking with our flight controller, (Deb's brother, John), we decided to change course...

After visiting some church history sites in Independence, MO and Liberty, MO, we turned SW and drove until 0130 to reach Wichita early this morning.

Today, we are going to cut diagonally across the corner of OK and TX in an attempt to reach Albuquerque, NM... I don't think we will get that far but that is our heading (down Highway 54).

If we get somewhere at a decent hour tonight, I will catch up the blog for the last three days (photos and all).

PS... Keep the prayers coming... my foot is starting to feel a little better!!!!!

Scotty.

I think you made a wise choice to avoid the snow storms in the plains and in the Rockies. Can be real vicious if they take a notion.
Glad your foot is feeling better. Wish I could say the same about my knee.
Had Tyler and Jessica here for lunch after church today. Enjoyed having them. They couldn't stay long. They leave for home tomorrow.
Fed them waffles, sausage and eggs. Jessica amazed me. She ate them dry, nothing on them, says she can't stand to eat anything that feels slick, including mashed potatoes and syrup. Strange. To each his own.
Talked to Katy on Tyler's cell phone. He had called her. Katy told us it is cold and snowing there. Pretty early for that kind of weather? Ken, says not so, that that is Utah for you. He used to drive longhaul truck through there. Your friend, Bishop Smith, told me that Cal Sommers had a beautiful funeral yesterday. Wish I could have been there.
Stay safe and don't take any chances on the road. Let the Spirit be your guide! And, you both are in our prayers each day.
Looking forward to your update of your blog.Love ya!
