Day 07 - Nauvoo and Wild Weather!

Sunday, July 27th Tonight we went to Nauvoo to see Jason Deere perform. It was supposed to be on the outdoor stage at 8:00 p.m. At 7:00, the skys suddenly darkened as if it was nighttime and the lightning and thunder started followed by over one hour of gale force winds and rain. It was crazy... I have only been in rain this bad in 1985 when I was in Hurricane Bob in Virginia... and it only lasted for 20 minutes!

The show was moved from the outside stage into the visitor center auditorium which could only hold 250 of the anticipated 700 attendees.

They graciously performed two shows... we luckily got into the first so we could get home around midnight with the boys...

The show was fantastic and the spirit was strong. They have done a great job relaying some of Brother Joseph's life and trials through music.

If you get a chance to hear their DVD or see them in concert, we highly recommend them. They will be in Portland for "Time Out For Women" in September or October.

Tomorrow we are going to chill a little... it has been a busy week.
