Day 26: Bunch Ball in Munchkin Land... Then Lions and Tigers and Bears... Oh my!

Saturday morning we watched Kaleb play soccer.

He is pretty good considering he is only 4-years old and the other players are mostly 5 and 6-year-olds.

The most agressive player on the team is a girl named Katy... go figure... brought back some good memories...

The park had a Wizard of Oz Theme which fit nicely into the rest of the day...

After the game, Kaleb and Hyrum dressed up for grandma...

In the afternoon, we visited Wildlife Praire State Park...

We began with a train ride through the park.

It was actually two rides, each consisting of a one-mile loop through different areas of the park.

The clickety-clack of the tracks put Kaleb to sleep by the time we got back to the station.

Brandyn was happy to see that the engine that powered the rebuilt engine, that the park obtained from the St Louis Zoo, was a genuine Cat.

After the ride, we spent about 3 hours walking the trails of the park. Along the way, we saw many different animals.

My favorite was this big bull Elk and his harem of cows...

It made for pretty cool photos when the herd of Bison ran behind them.

Looks like Madison and Hamilton at 20 paces...

The boys had a great time in the old pioneer homestead petting farm...

You guys are having so much fun that you are not going to want to return to the beautiful Northwest and home>:) Nice photos. Kaleb looks like a real aggressive soccer player! I'm wondering if elk are native to that part of the USA or imported for the park? Nice rack on the bull. Brings back a bad memory of a certain elk hunt!
Could have shot a cannon through the chapel at sacrament meeting today and not hit anyone. There were just 10 saints in the first seven rows of pews! Only 18 total in priesthood. I don't know the why of such low attendance today. Dorothy went to church with me today and that was a real plus as far as I am concerned. She is steady improving now and I thank the Lord for his blessing her. It has been a real struggle for her.
Beautiful sabbath day weatherwise. Kind of strange in that there is not a breath of air moving, no breeze. Maybe the lull before the storm?
Sad news- announced in Relief Society meeting that Sis. Grace Brown has only a couple of days left before she dies. She has been hoping it would come sooner than this. She has fought the good fight, so to speak, and is ready to meet Carl, her husband, in the spirit world.
Drove by your house after church, just to see if all looked well there. I know you said you had lots of people looking out for you but we drove by anyway.
We love you and miss you. Take care and keep the blog up to date. We enjoy viewing it.
Love,
Mom and Dad
