Day 5: Cougars, Wildcats, And Dawgs

Today was a very busy day. Jayson opened the shack at 12:00 and intended to stay open until 4:00. However, due to the BYU v.s. Arizona home game today, he ran out of buns before he ran out of time... he sold over 120 dawgs per hour and wound up shutting down the shack about 2:30... sold out.

A new pizza store next door was humiliated... they kept trying to lure J Dawg customers away but it did not work. They would just take the flyer that they were offering and walk over to J Dawgs... it was sweet.

Meanwhile, Heidi started her new adventure today also. She set up a remote J Dawg site across from the stadium to sell dawgs before and after the game. She did quite well despite some things not going according to plan... she did not get to set up in the spot that she had planned and it probably hurt her sales some. Joy, Deb, and Katy helped Heidi sell while Jayson and Scott went to the game.

The game was fun. BYU beat the Wildcats 20 to 7. The officiating was messed up and really slowed the game... a lot.

During the game, they retired Griffen Nielsen and Ty Detmer's number 14. It was cool to see them receive the award. Elder Ballard and Lavell Edwards both spoke during the presentation. Last time I was here, I got to see Steve Young's number retired... so this was pretty cool.

After the game, Jayson went to help Heidi sell some more dawgs to the fans leaving the game.

Provo Fire Rescue 2 caught a run but stopped long enough to toss a $20.00 bill out the window for an order of dawgs. After their run, they returned and collected their meal.

Officer Jim Young, a close friend of Jayson and Heidi stopped by to say hi and give Mae some loving... it was cute.

After everything was shut down and picked up, we went to dinner and went home to go to bed. Everyone was real tired after a long hot day in the high 90's!
